Privacy policy
Journeyman Works is run by me, Kyle Kufeldt, from metro Atlanta, Georgia. This page says what this website collects about you, what it does not, and what happens to anything you send me. It is written in plain language on purpose. If something is unclear, email me and I will answer.
What this site collects on its own
Almost nothing. There are no accounts and the site does not set any cookies. The one form on the booking page sends me your name, mobile number, optional email and a line about your phone, by email through Mailgun, and nothing else on the site collects anything. It is otherwise a handful of static pages.
Who sees your visit
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any host, it sees the usual request details: your IP address, browser, and the pages you ask for. It also runs Cloudflare Web Analytics for me, which counts page views without cookies, without storing anything in your browser, and without following you to other sites. I see totals, not people.
- Cal.com provides the calendar on the booking page. If you book a call, the name, email address, phone number and notes you type go to Cal.com under its own privacy policy, and a copy comes to me so I can hold the call.
- Mailgun carries email to and from this domain. Anything you send to kyle@journeymanworks.com passes through Mailgun and is delivered to my mailbox, which is hosted by Google.
What I do with what you send me
I use your details to reply, to hold the call you booked, and to keep notes on what we talked about. I do not sell them, add them to a marketing list, or share them with anyone beyond the three companies named above. If you ask me to delete what I hold about you, I will, and I will tell you when it is done.
The systems I build for clients
This is the part most privacy pages leave out, and the part that matters if you ever get a text from a business that runs on something I built. The phone numbers, messages and records inside a client's system belong to that client, not to me. I work on it on their behalf, and every system follows the same rules:
- Only mobile numbers get texted. A landline is never texted because it happened to be on a list.
- Numbers on the Do Not Call registry are never used.
- Nothing goes out overnight.
- One opt out is enough. Reply to any message with a word like STOP and that number is switched off everywhere it appears, not just on the thread that replied.
If you want out of a client's messages, replying to the message is the fastest way. If that does not work, tell me which business it was and I will chase it.
How long I keep things
Booking details and email stay in my mailbox and calendar for as long as they are useful to the conversation, and are deleted on request. I keep no analytics that can identify you.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. The current version is always the one at this address.
